“In our country, students tend be job-seekers rather than providers. Through this programme, we want to encourage them to start their own business,” said Harsh Bhargava, the honorary president of I Create Inc. USA, an NGO dedicated to entrepreneurship development through training, mentoring and counselling.
On the 16th October 2009 Steve Mariotti (NFTE US founder) and Amy Rosen (CEO NFTE US) had the privilege of bringing three finalists from the 2009 OppenheimerFunds/NFTE National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge to the White House to be honored for their achievements by the President of the United States.
The 3 finalists; Kalief Rollins (first place winner), Zoe Damacela (second place winner) and Scott Paiva (third place winner) chatted with the President about their businesses and their experiences as young entrepreneurs. They followed their visit with a private tour of the White House and interviews with the media.

NFTE heeft een sterke internationale dimensie. Door Steve Mariotti opgericht in de Bronx in New York in 1987 groeiden netwerk en projecten wereldwijd uit, van India tot San Franciso en via Belgie naar Nederland, Duitsland, Engeland, Ierland, Frankrijk en Oostenrijk waar NFTE tot het nationale curriculum behoort.
NFTE is ook in Europa dermate omvangrijk en succesvol dat de continentale landen voor eind 2010 NFTE Europa zullen oprichten. De trainingen, businesscamps en de opleidingen van leraren zullen daarmee een Europese dimensie krijgen.

De leerlingen 3de jaars Handel zullen hun winnende businesscase tonen aan een internationaal publiek van 300 hoogleraren economie en maatschappij. Ze worden vergezeld van teams uit Ierland, België, Duitsland, Oostenrijk en Bulgarije.
